Adoption Song - Levon Helm's Studio - April 26, 2006
LEVON HELM'S PLACE
I wrote a song about adoption in the car on my way to Levon Helm Studio in Woodstock, NY. Justin Guips (Melodrome drummer) was behind the board producing and engineering. The song is called "Let them know love" and is for a compilation produced by the National Adoption Foundation and will be made available at Barnes and Nobles in the Spring.
Songwriting Awards - April 26, 2006
I often work on my clients songs, helping them with the lyrics and arrangements. Sometimes in a concentrated period, perhaps 3 days in a row, getting all the songs for an album ready, sometimes in regular 2 hour sessions spread out over many months. This March yielded some juicy fruits from this labor. Friends Graham Isaacson and Maya Solovey both won songwriting awards this month for songs that I co-wrote and produced here in the studio:
Maya Solovey and Robby Baier have won the Great American Songwriting Contest for Best Contemporary Pop/Adult song for their song "Linger". Graham Isaacson and Robby Baier's song "What's The Point" won second Place in the International Songwriting Competition in the folk/singer-songwriter catagory!! Not too shabby...
New CD - April 26, 2006
I am currently working on a solo record while Melodrome is in a gig hiatus. I am psyched about the new songs and have carved out some time in April to finish it up. Jerry Krenach from Red Parlor Records has been helping on the drums. Red Parlor will release the record sometime this year. Check out this sample: Save The Bell Check out this link for a taste:
